I don't have any answers to your questions, but just want to let you know
that hpc uses the same issue tracker as GHC. There are currently 3 open
tickets

Fixes for several long standing issues

will be included in 7.10 and 7.12. If you find any more bugs, or indeed
have a feature request, please report them.
