[xmonad] New couple of problems with xmonad 0.17

How exactly are you starting the xmonad session? Can you attach your
session file (~/.xsession or xmonad.desktop, as appropriate)?

What's going wrong with picom? Is it simply not starting? Do you have
an appropriate config file for it?
