[xmonad] Can avoidStruts stop working?

I was using xmonad and xmonad-contrib master with xmobar stable from
hackage.

I had rebuilt before, but I'll try again.

Where exactly is the caching store and can it be invalidated?
Ideally a cache shall not need manual management.
