[xmonad] How to prefix workspace names with numbers?

Can you control, say, Apple Mail or Safari with XMonad?

I used to run it on there too, but I couldn't shake the feeling that it
just partitioned my OS into two separate ones: some stuff just doesn't
run in X on OS X.
