Research Associate in Haskell/Erlang for Distributed Telecommunications=20

Applications are invited for a three year Research Associate position at=20
Heriot-Watt University to work with Dr Phil Trinder on an EPSRC=20
funded project entitled "High-Level Techniques for Distributed=20
Telecommunications Software". The project is a collaboration with Motorola =
UK=20
Research Labs and aims to evaluate high-level distributed programming=20
techniques for constructing realistic telecommunications software.=20

Applications are welcomed from candidates with a doctorate or a very good f=
irst=20
degree in Computing or cognate discipline; a successful candidate without a=
 PhD=20
will have the opportunity of registering for one. Applicants should have go=
od=20
written and verbal communication skills and be able to demonstrate a strong=
=20
programming ability: experience with distribution and the Haskell or Erlang=
=20
programming languages is desirable. Likewise a research background, and=20
familiarity with the telecommunications sector are desirable.
