a programming language I used in the 80s that was
designed in the 60s used x.f and that worked very nicely with thinking
of record fields as functions.

At some point, there was some discussion on doing the same in GHC, but the idea does not seem to have been looked into further.


Do you have a reference for this old language that used x.f?
