[Haskell-cafe] Haddock: documenting parameters of functional arguments

I like to write documentation comments like

fix ::
  (   a {- ^ local argument -}
   -> a {- ^ local output -} )
      -> a {- ^ global output -}

but Haddock doesn't allow it. Or is there a trick to get it work?
