Comment:

 I think this is a duplicate of #7368. You can reduce the testcase to:

 {{{
 lift :: m a -> n m a
 lift = undefined

 foo = lift undefined undefined
 }}}

 which is reminiscent of #7368 and has the same panic reason "kindFunResult
 ghc-prim:GHC.Prim.*{(w) tc 34d}". HEAD does not panic.
