If you run it without --criterion, it’ll use a very naive benchmarking.
Maybe someone with experience in this area can have a look at the code:

But anyways, the list-fusion-lab should be in shape to start putting
some benchmarks and alternative implementation in; we can polish the
rough edges as we use it.
