Right, that's another option.  Though, I'm not sure how that looks with
dots in version. 

For comparision:  

  Build-depends:  base 1.1 to 2.1.*, filepath 1.1 to 1.*

  Build-depends:  base 1.1 .. 2.1.*, filepath 1.1 .. 1.*

  Build-depends:  base 1.1 - 2.1.*,  filepath 1.1 - 1.*

  Build-depends:  base [1.1, 2.2),  filepath [1.1, 2)

Spaces would be recommended (but not required) in any case.
