[xmonad] [noob question] I lost the sound when using xmonad

This is not directly related to xmonad. First, could you provide more
information about your environment (OS, distribution etc.)?

Assuming you're using a linux distribution, you are probably forgetting to start
alsa or pulseaudio daemons.
