Hey all,

Just wanted to make a quick plug here for bacteria v1.1. Bacteria is
a pretty simple app: it reads a sequence of input images, then creates
an output image with the input images centered on rectangles the size
your current X screens. This makes it pretty simple to compose
Xinerama backgrounds that are suitable as input to, eg, "feh" or
ImageMagick's "display".

For those who were around for the v1.0 announcement, v1.1 adds
graceful handling of input images that are bigger than the rectangle
for the screen they would be put on; currently, the behavior is to
simply take a screen-sized chunk from the center of the input image.
Arguments and specs for other sane behaviors are welcomed. =)

More information and installation instructions are available on

Cheers!
