[xmonad] Regarding gsoc: compositing support

The project outlined by dons' Ticket #1548 would be interesting to work on 
and / or see finished, but the task seems pretty intimidating. I have not 
done any ffi bindings, and from a bit of browsing through the compiz 
sources reveals quite a bit of complexity (most of which is orthogonal to 
what we want?).

Also, I'm a bit concerned that this project would not be accepted because 
it doesn't specifically help the haskell community.

Lastly, what does it mean that:
>    Mentor:      not-accepted
Is there anything that I could do to change that?
