[xmonad] Multi Head Setups with Newer Xorg?

Hi All,

Since upgrading my ubuntu install (and breaking my multi head xmonad
setup), I've been reading a lot about how xinerama is broken for newer
xorgs, and is deprecated in favor of xrandr (which doesn't handle
multi-head on more than one card).  Looks like my only option is to
revert back to ubuntu 8.04, or dump some screens.  How are you dealing
with this?  Has anyone found a workaround?
