[xmonad] darcs patch: floating layout with placement

Sorry for the long delay in responding.  I tried to apply this patch
but am hitting some sort of bad merge behavior, darcs seems to freeze
up (or maybe it's just taking a really long time).  Would you mind
re-recording and resending it?
