I would beg to differ.  I am attempting to use Drew Adams' OneOnOne
package for emacs to place a single, eternal minibuffer at the bottom
of my screen:

Emacs is just now gaining support for systrap notification.  I would
definitely want this in my bar and not stealing from my minibuffer.
