you are right, the online documentation should and does work for 0.3 
xmonad, even if
it's too obscure for a newbie to grasp
for example, the combo extension mentions "add something like bla to your
defaultLayouts". I think that's a bit hard for somebody who doesnt know haskell
and/or how xmonad works

on the other hand, the darcs version of extensions doesnt always have a working
example in the code, see for example HintedTile or LayoutHints, they 
examples dont
handle layouts correctly. all those docs should be updated before a 0.4 version
