sorry for the typos (I pushed "Submit Changes" too early)... what I 
meant was:
XMonad.Hooks.DynamicLog provides a function, dynamicLogXmobar, which 
gives you some
nice pretty printer defaults to be used with xmobar.

Have a look at XMonad.Config.Arossato as an usage example.
