Apparently I fail at using Haskell right; obviously contents <-
addHamlet won't give me a Widget. :) This code works:
blockW :: Widget ()
blockW = do
let contents = addHamlet [hamlet|example|]
body <- extractBody contents
addHamlet [hamlet|
<div
^{body}|]
