Michael,

Please don't apologize!  I was just curious what your thoughts were on
things that needed to be further split apart.  In that respect, my taste
aligns closely with yours; things should be split when possible into
self-contained bits that do one thing each.  Of course, "when possible"
is understood to be modulo concerns about orphan instances, performance
issues with module boundaries, etc.
