In theory, you shouldn't need to write your own sink.  If you use one  
of the legacy adapters (reactive-glut, or reactive-fieldtrip) at the  
moment, then it will do all of the event input for you.  The tetris  
program linked earlier on the mailing list uses reactie-fieldtrip, and  
should give you a good idea of how to go about it.
