Fwiw, reverting the new syntax at this point also has an effect on
already officially released libraries such as
http://hackage.haskell.org/package/containers-0.5.5.1 which started
using the new non-pragma annotation[1]; so this would require new
hackage uploads (and maybe hackage-deprecations)... just saying...
