Perhaps I've been just doing too much C/C++ programming and therefore
dislike '&', but also in the Haskell world there're the operators '&&'
and '.&.', so '&' has for myself the connotation of taking two things of
the same kind and combine them in a way.
So I would prefer '#', but most likely could also live with '&'.
