As a further issue, could the examples that were included with Daan
Leijen's original distribution be added to the package?

I suspect that some peoples dislike of Parsec's try is exacerbated by
them not using the Token and Language modules to usefully handle white
space and tokenizing. Daan's examples are very handy to copy good
practice from.
