Windows XP upgrade trouble (was: (no subject))

Hi,

this is a known side-effect of upgrading to XP, and whose only
known cure is to remove and reinstall Hugs98. If that still doesn't
do it, let us know.

after installing windows xp hugs hugs cannot be run anymore...it exits
always with the error "Illegal character escape sequence "\W" "
and a window pops up :
FATAL ERROR: Unable to load prelude
reinstalling did not help.
