You know, this is very strange. The client software in question seems to 
be GMail's web interface, and this one has had many examples of doing 
the right thing, both elsewhere and in haskell-cafe, even in this very 
thread (Brent Yorgey's message).

It may be useful to exchange notes on which buttons to press to get 
which behaviour.
