Would be great to see GHC on Maemo.  I recently bought an N900 and
googled around to see if this is possible to write Haskell for the
platform.

The short answer is 'not easily'

There are some old notes on getting previous versions compiling, but
nothing up to date....

I gave up pretty quickly :-(
