I get the same behaviour - darcs hangs. In verbose output it seems that
it has some I/O errors on FD 4 whatever it is (i.e. socket, file etc.).
Any ideas?

Combining with Console and/or (x)emacs+Cygwin/X+eshell it should be
sufficient for my other needs.
