As you have built ghc6.6 from sources I think that you also need to build
all haskell libs from sources. So, do
$ apt-get source libghc6-mtl-dev
$ cd <haskell-mtl-or-whatever-dir-is-named>
$ runhaskell Setup.lhs configure
$ runhaskell Setup.lhs build
$ sudo runhaskell Setup.lhs install
Another way is to take ghc6 and all haskell libs from fiesty.
