[Haskell-cafe] Help using QuickCheck

I'm afraid this fix didn't make it into the 6.4 branch, but the double
error (which is bad) is certainly fixed in the HEAD

| I generally find that most of GHC's errors are real, ie they don't
| change much when I fix earlier errors.  (It seems to report only one
