</div>By this logic, head is "unsound", since head [] throws an error.<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>Oddly enough, it's actually widely recognized that non-total functions like `head` pose problems. it still remains that string (or indeed numeric) literals are not expected to cause runtime exceptions.</div>
