Installing on Leopard

I have some problems installing 6.8.1 on Mac OS X Leopard. First I
installed readline using ports:

$ sudo port install readline
<snip>

Then GHC
$ ./configure --prefix=$HOME && make install

I thought GHC shipped with its own GMP lib.
