Comment(by td123):
Note that I am using ghc 7.4.2 now
{{{
main = print $ logBase 2 2147483648 > 31
}}}
Prints True on x86_64 and False on i686
The build.mk used to compile ghc is:
https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/tree/trunk/build.mk?h=packages/ghc
I attempted to write the following equivalent C program.
{{{
#include <math.h>
#include <stdio.h>
int main(int argc, char ** argv) {
printf("%i\n", (log(2147483648)/log(2)) > 31.0);
printf("%i\n", (log10(2147483648)/log10(2)) > 31.0);
return 0;
}
}}}
and it prints out, for both x86_64 and i686:
{{{
1
0
}}}
