Comment(by thorkilnaur):

 Inspired by the e-mail from Erik earlier this week, I have attempted to
 re-enable my PPC Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard, I believe), details
 {{{
 $ uname -a
 Darwin thorkil-naurs-mac-mini.local 9.8.0 Darwin Kernel Version 9.8.0: Wed

 }}}
 to build GHC. Rather to my surprise, I succeeded in building the GHC HEAD
 (7.5.20120714) using a ghc-7.0.1 that I had built using a binary
 ghc-6.10.4 that I am not exactly sure where I acquired. Test summary:

 Is that suitable for testing the patch?

 Best regards
