Comment(by igloo):

 Yes, in the same sense that people who want to upgrade containers,
 directory, etc have problems.

 But it has the advantage that people can use GHC's binary instances (of
 which there are few currently, but presumably our plan is to switch to
 binary, so there will be lots in the future).
