Comment(by PHO):

 Right. The dph packages uses TemplateHaskell so they end up depending on
 GHCi libraries. The only way to build the darcs HEAD is to use shared
 libraries instead.

 (For PowerPC users, apply my patches posted to #3594 to build it.)
