#3806: Type checking errors in foreign declarations reported at wrong locations

   Component: Compiler | Version: 6.12.1
  Resolution: | Keywords:

Architecture: Unknown/Multiple | Failure: None/Unknown

Comment (by asuffield):

Addendum: to be clear, this happens because foreign export statements
aren't type constraints on the function, but rather create new instances
of the function with the given type. The semantics are fine, I just want
the error message to indicate the location of the other part of the
problem. On reflection, this may be non-trivial to accomplish.
