 :~/share/heliumEditor$ cabal configure
 Resolving dependencies...
 Binary: Int64 truncated to fit in 32 bit Int
 ghc: panic! (the 'impossible' happened)
   (GHC version 6.10.4 for i386-unknown-linux):
         Prelude.chr: bad argument

 The system is i386 Xubuntu 9.10, installed from the alternate CD running
 as a VirtualBox VM guest under XP SP3.

 It don't happen if I do:  cabal configure -fgui
