 #3201 wasn't fixed on the 6.10 branch, the fix is only in 6.12 and later.
 I'm not sure exactly why, perhaps it was an oversight.

 Re the testsuite, the download page says "If you unpack this tarball on
 top of the above then you will be able to run the testsuite.", or if you
 get the sources from darcs, then darcs-all automatically puts it in the
 right place.  Which bit isn't clear?

 I'm closing this ticket as a dup of #3201; please open separate tickets
 for the latter two issues in simonpj's list.
