 Thanks.  I've fixed the crash, so it produces a sensible (if not great)
 error message

 T3095.hs:5:10: Kind signature only allowed for type variables
 }}}
 It produces this because GHC parses the type thus:
 {{{
    ((forall x.x) :: *)
 }}}
 Merge to 6.10.2 if there's time.
