#2983: Segmentation fault in ray tracer with certain options

        Type:  bug                    |       Status:  new

    Severity:  normal                 |   Resolution:
    Keywords: seg fault, ray tracer | Difficulty: Unknown
    Testcase:                         |           Os:  MacOS X

Comment (by igloo):

 This instruction:
 {{{
 0x00001915 <Main_zdwcreate_entry+65>:   xorpd  0x18deb8,%xmm0
 }}}
 fails as the first argument is not 16-byte aligned. Unfortunately the
 error:
 {{{
 Program received signal EXC_BAD_ACCESS, Could not access memory.
 Reason: 13 at address: 0x00000000
 }}}
 is rather cryptic (0x00000000?).

 This is related to #2917, and the planned short-term fix of 16-byte
 aligning everything should fix it.

 These flags are sufficient to trigger it: `-O2 -funbox-strict-fields
 -fvia-C`.
