 ghc's makefiles currently ignore --htmldir overriding it to
 $(docdir)/html:
 this is also noted in comments for autoconf .backward compatibility.

 Since only html is generated by default distro packagers probably prefer
 to drop
 the html/ subdir and just install the html docs straight to docdir.
 Having a working --htmldir configure options would allow this without
 fragile build hacks.
