 I think it's strange that, given how much easier a "safe" Haskell should
 be compared to languages like PHP and perl, they have safe modes and we
 don't. Personally I think that we should definitely do something along
 those lines, although we should think carefully about what the options
 are, and what the best way to achieve it is; this strikes me as the sort
 of thing where it's possible to do a lot of work, and then realise that
 you've missed a corner.
