Comment (by maeder):
An alternative location for the GMP and GNUreadline frameworks could be
ghc's libdir (`ghc --print-libdir`) This would require to extend
`Linker.lhs` and `DriverPipeline.hs` again.
The frameworks would then be private to ghc:
{{{
otool -L lib/ghc-6.8.2/ghc-6.8.2
lib/ghc-6.8.2/ghc-6.8.2:
@executable_path/GMP.framework/Versions/A/GMP (compatibility
version 8.0.0, current version 8.1.0)
@executable_path/GNUreadline.framework/Versions/A/GNUreadline
(compatibility version 5.0.0, current version 5.2.0)
/usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current
version 88.3.9)
}}}
Binaries created with such an ghc still need (at least one of) the
frameworks that may be found in the user's home directory by the dynamic
linker at runtime.
Also binaries could be created with private frameworks, but then such a
binary is no longer a single file.
P.S. Making a binary look for a private framework can be done using
`install_name_tool`, i.e.
{{{
install_name_tool -change GMP.framework/Versions/A/GMP
@executable_path/GMP.framework/Versions/A/GMP ghc-6.8.2
}}}
