copyBytes "copies the given number of _bytes_"

 moveBytes "copies the given number of _elements_"

 e.g. seen at
 http://www.haskell.org/ghc/docs/latest/html/libraries/base/Foreign-
 Marshal-Utils.html#v%3AcopyBytes

 But they actually do (approximately) the same thing! I think it must
 really be bytes, not elements - after all, they don't even require
 (Storable a).
