 You can get a library documentation tarball from the documentation page:
 http://haskell.org/haskellwiki/GHC

 We'll need more details to look into the problems you are having building
 the docs.

 Finally, I don't think missing .haddock files are fatal; you just won't
 get cross-package links if they are missing.
