 Additional infos:
   my ghc: 6.4.2 (Porting GHC is not up-to-date for ghc-6.6).
   the ghc-inplace segfaults in some cases. But I can get this message:

 hello.hs:1:0:
     Failed to load interface for `Prelude':
         Could not find module `Prelude':
           use -v to see a list of the files searched for
