#970: GHCi crashes under Windows Millenium

GHCi fails to launch for me under Windows Millenium.
 The command:
 {{{
 ghc -v --interactive
 }}}
 produces the following:
 {{{

   / _ \ /\  /\/ __(_)

 at which point GHCi fails with the generic error message (roughly
 translated from French):
 {{{
 Ghc provoked an error in GHC.EXE. The program Ghc will now be stopped.
 If you continue to encounter problems, try to restart your computer.
 }}}
 Restarting the computer, obviously, didn't help.

 I am using GHC 6.6 under Windows Millenium, which was set up using the
 standalone Windows installer. I can use the compiler from the command line
 without any problems, but whenever I try to launch GHCi from the Start
 menu or using "ghc --interactive", I get the above error message. Please
 note that GHCi v6.4.2 works flawlessly on the same machine (a rather old
 Pentium III 650 MHz with a modest 128 Mo of RAM, if such things matter).
