Installation

I am new to linux and I am trying to install ghc.  I am running into an
error when running the configure file.  

My operating system is: Linux cory-laptop 2.6.17-10-generic #2 SMP Fri
Oct 13 18:45:35 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux

gcc version 4.1.2 20060928 (prerelease) (Ubuntu 4.1.1-13ubuntu5)

cory at cory-laptop:~/Desktop/ghc-6.6$ ./configure

Is there anything else I need to install or do for this to work?
