Records no longer allow a trailing comma before '}'

e.g.
$ ghc -c bar.hs
bar.hs:3: parse error on input `}'
$ cat bar.hs
f n = R { 
		field = n,
	}
$

System: Apple Powerbook G4 running MacOS X.3 (Panther) as 
previous
GHC: 6.2

Not a big deal, but this has broken code that worked in
ghc 4.x and 5.x

GHC is correct here - as you say, the code is broken.
